I'm Denise Day, running for an at-large seat on the Oyster River Cooperative School District board.  I want to continue to support excellence in education at Oyster River while being a careful steward of your taxpayer dollars.  You may find out more about me here, learn why I'm running here and watch some of my comments at past school board meetings here.

Please vote for me at your local polling place in Lee, Durham or Madbury on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.

You may learn about where I and the other candidates stand from Meet the Candidates night:

Also, the Teachers' Guild released their candidate questionnaire, which has all three candidates answering the same questions.

Here is the school district ballot you'll see on election day.

Please contact me at DeniseDay2014@gmail.com if you have questions or would like to get involved in the campaign.  Thanks for your vote on March 11th!

Denise Day for School Board

My name is Denise Day and I’m running for an at-large seat on the Oyster River School District School Board.   I have a background in education, my family and I have been living in the district almost 20 years, my son did Kindergarten through graduation at Oyster River and I've been attending school board meetings regularly for the last three years.  Please feel free to read more About Me or follow some Links to things I've written and said.

The Oyster River School Board has recently made some major decisions affecting the district, most notably the decision to enter into a contract with Barrington. One of the biggest issues facing the district will be continuing to deal with changes in enrollment at all of its schools.

Oyster River has a tradition of providing a top-notch education for our children. We need to continue to support creativity and excellence in our schools, while also being mindful to find the most economical ways to do so. Initiatives like the recently completed energy audit and retrofitting of the high school allow us to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars without compromising our schools.

I believe my knowledge of the district and familiarity with the issues will be an asset to the Board. In addition, I am a detail-oriented person who is careful to consider all sides of an issue before making a decision.

If you have questions or comments, please feel free to email me at deniseday2014@gmail.com.

I hope I can count on your support on March 11.
